Academy District 20, Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs Academy School District Twenty is known throughout the Pikes Peak Region for its strong foundation in core academic subjects and the importance of educating the whole person. Providing a comprehensive education for all students is core to the District 20 philosophy. Consistently high test scores, faculty and students receiving many awards and scholarships ranks the district among the best in Colorado. Today Academy District 20 supports:
- 5 High schools (grades 9-12)
- 5 Middle schools (grades 6-8)
- 18 Elementary Schools (grades K-5)
- 1 Charter School
Beyond the core subjects there is an emphasis on music, physical education, and technology education. Extensive co-curricular activities offer something for any child's interest. Special education and talented and gifted programs are available at all schools and at all levels. Individual need is assessed and children and placed in this programs appropriately. The special programs are designed to offer students more options and as a result enhance their educational experience.

Students are provided Chapter I programs, D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), E.S.L (English as Second Language)and Advanced Placement programs. In partnership with Pikes Peak Community College classes in vocational and technical trades are offered as well.
District 20 is committed to fostering and promoting strong partnerships with
parents, district personnel, students, patrons and community to complement
the district infrastructure. Cooperative ventures with Kennedy Center for
Imagination Celebration, science programs funded by Hewlett- Packard,
journeyman/mentor programs and the Air Force Academy are examples for how
the community supports and enhances the D-20 experience.
