COLORADO SPRINGS (July 12, 2005) - Radar, the world's biggest horse became part
of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" family today when he helped to tear down
the walls of the old Barrett family farmhouse to make way for an extraordinary new
Keller home. Their new house will be plenty big enough for their extended family that
includes their two biological and four adopted children.
Radar, a giant and gentle Belgian Draft Horse, was harnessed to giant leather straps and
literally pulled down several walls at the front of the Barrett farmhouse. Weighing in at
2750 pounds and a remarkable almost 20 hands high, Radar will be inducted into the
2006 Guinness Book of World Records for being "the biggest horse in the world."
The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition design team, Keller Homes and a crew of more
than 2000 skilled subcontractors and volunteers will build a classic, contemporary
Colorado farmhouse in just one week.
"We're going to build a home that reflects the heritage and sensibilities of the Colorado
prairie - a solid, practical, timeless home with as much warmth, heart and character as the
family who has come together to share it," says Dave Keller, President and CEO of
Keller Homes.
One of the highest rated series on ABC, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced
by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of
Endemol USA. The series is executive-produced by Tom Forman. The show airs Sundays
(7:00-8:00 p.m. MDT), on the ABC Television Network.
